Tarek Mourad

Tarek Mourad is a Partner at Advantary Capital Partners. An investor-operator with more than 20 years of global banking experience, he advises clients across a broad range of sectors, including financial institutions, sponsors, corporates, and sovereign wealth funds. He works closely with institutional investors, private equity firms, founders, family offices, and strategic partners to syndicate investment opportunities and deliver solutions across Advantary's platform.

Prior to joining Advantary, Tarek was Managing Director and Global Head of the Financial Institutions Group at First Abu Dhabi Bank, the UAE's largest bank and leading institution. Over a 20-plus-year career spanning North America, Europe, and the Middle East, he led global client coverage for banks, sponsors, non-bank financial institutions, insurance companies, asset managers, fintechs, and other financial institutions, originating and executing complex financing, capital markets, structured finance, and strategic advisory transactions. He managed global client and sector portfolios with full P&L responsibility and built long-standing relationships with executive leadership teams, boards, investors, and regulators.

Tarek brings deep expertise in investment banking, corporate banking, capital markets, private credit, capital raising, capital formation, and strategic partnerships. He has advised clients on structured financing, growth capital, acquisitions, balance sheet optimization, and cross-border transactions, while leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple jurisdictions.

Beyond his institutional banking career, Tarek is an entrepreneur and investor with experience building and operating businesses in the consumer and retail sectors. This combination of institutional expertise, operating experience, and a global investor network enables him to bridge capital providers with high-quality investment opportunities and deliver practical, value-driven solutions for clients. Tarek holds a BSc in Business Management from the University of Maryland, Global Campus and an MBA from the University of Cumbria in the UK. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, skiing, motor racing, entrepreneurship, and following global financial markets and geopolitics.
